Ice Fishing Derby

3/1/11 The Derby has been cancelled due to poor ice conditions:


Plans are underway for an ice fishing derby to be held at Plunkett Pond in Benedicta on Saturday, March 5 from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sponsored by Sherman Area Memorial VFW Post 2299, the derby is being held a week earlier than past years.
Twenty tagged pickerel will be up for grabs, with $2000 in prizes.

Fishermen may register all day up until 4 p.m. No fish can be turned in after 4:00. All Maine fishing laws will apply.

Hot dogs, soda and coffee will be available on site. Is anyone willing to come help out in the hot dog bus or sell tickets?
